Overview

Starting at Portencross Car Park we will take a slight diversion to see Portencross Castle. Thereafter, we walk along the pink sands of Ardneil Bay before taking a path to Ardneil Farm and finally to the summit of Goldenberry Hill where on a clear day you can enjoy panoramic views of the Clyde coast. We then will descend the hill and follow the Ayrshire Coastal path to Seamill. We return to Portencross on a similar route.

TERRAIN: pebble and sandy beach, farm tracks, earth trails and tarmac.  Boggy underfoot at times. Gradual ascent to summit. There are 2 gates to climb. Walking Poles and gloves would be useful on this walk.

Nb. There are many cows on route to summit.
