We are the Kilmarnock & Loudoun Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is approximately 9 miles/5hour walk (we can be flexible) starting outside at Mancini's Cafe at Prestwick Beach. We will walk along the beach to the Pow Burn and head inland to cross the bridge over the Pow Burn. We can have a coffee break just outside Prestwick Holiday Park. We will then follow the beach all the way to Troon Promenade (storm damage to coast path onto beach has been repaired) and along the Promenade, past the Kiosk to have lunch in the gardens at the front in Troon. We will re-trace our steps along the Promenade, then past the Marine Hotel and into Royal Troon Golf Course. We will follow a clear tarmac road through the golf course back to Prestwick Holiday Park and then return to Prestwick by a road along side Prestwick Golf Course.
Walk Leaders: Jim and Rona Gilmour will meet you on the steps of Mancini's Cafe, at Prestwick seafront at 9.30am for a 9.40am start. Please let the walk leaders know if you are planning to go directly to Prestwick.

By car follow A77 towards Ayr and follow signs for Prestwick Airport. Pass beyond the airport and follow A79 into Prestwick until you reach Prestwick Cross then turn right at the sign for the Railway Station. Carry on past the station and Mancini's Cafe and then follow the road round to the right where there is parking. By train, turn right on leaving Prestwick Town Station and walk down the road towards the sea. Mancini's Cafe is on the right. Toilets 30p card payment only available next to Mancini's Cafe and next to the Kiosk at Troon Beach Front.
