Overview

We leave the car park at Spadework and make our way into Offham Village. Passing the quintain (said to be the last remaining tilting post in England still in its original location) we leave the village to enter into Mereworth Woods. Crossing Seven Mile Lane we continue south through Hurst Wood until we reach the viewpoint at Gover Hill. Here we pick up the Wealdway and head north through the coppice woodlands until we reach Platt, where we will take lunch. We then continue north through Wrotham Heath. As we approach Addington we cross the long barrow, a Neolithic structure thought to date from  the fourth millennium BC. We make our way back to Offham across mixed countryside.
