The Rhymney Riverside walk winds for 32 miles along the floor of the river through the steep sided glacial valley to the flatter wider valley further south. This walk begins from Rhymney rail station over Rhymney Hill common to Bryn Oer, past the Gorsedd 1990 stones and wind turbines to access the start of the Trail from Bryn Bach Park created in the 1980's when the collieries closed. On to Bute Town, a planned village created for the workers of the new ironworks opened in 1825 by the Marquis of Bute with a short detour to see the Twisted chimney sculpture before following the river past Rhymney to Pontlottyn station.
