A 13-mile varied Winter walk in and around North Cardiff, taking in Craig yr Allt, Caerphilly 'Mountain', part of the Ridgeway, lots of beautiful woodland and undoubtedly a lot of mud!
Please carry sufficient food and drink for the day - I don't plan to stop at any cafes etc. Good weather can't be guaranteed, but there are opportunities to shorten the walk if it is too poor for enjoyment.
Please share cars as much as practically possible, and arrange this yourselves.
Start Fforest Fawr carpark, directions:
In Tongwynlais, take the road up past the Lewis Arms Pub. Pass the entrance to Castell Coch and continue up the winding road with woods on both sides. Drive with care - this road is notorious for accidents but there are plenty of passing places. The Fforest Fawr carpark is at the top, on the Left.
Walkers are asked to carry In Case of Emergency information, this might be on a card, key fob or on their smartphone.
