James and Pip will be leading a circular walk from Towan Cross to Chapel Porth and St Agnes Beacon, along coastal footpaths and over the Beacon finishing in valleys.
The walk starts over rough stone footpaths to Wheal Charlotte mine and then follows the coast path north to Chapel Porth where there are toilets and a cafe. We then continue along the coast path to Wheal Coates mine and St Agnes Head. There are some steep descents and ascents and the path is close to the cliff but not precipitous. After St Agnes Head we take to a bridleway towards the Beacon. There is a small area of mud here. We ascend the Beacon and get far reaching views north and south and then descend to the south taking in paths and eventually join Chapel Coombe and return to the cars. Finish with a drink in the Victory Inn.
Boots, food and drink. For further details or to book please email camelwalks@gmail.com leaving your contact telephone number. Some paths are a bit muddy but waterproof boots not needed unless there is heavy rain beforehand. Sticks advised for rocky paths. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
