Overview

Start at the bandstand near the Maiwand Lion in Forbury Gardens, nearest postcode RG1 3BB, for a short circular walk. We walk through the Abbey ruins, along the River Kennet to the Horseshoe Bridge junction with the River Thames. Then we follow the Thames Path to Caversham Lock, cross the weir on the footbridge and look at the Hydro plant on View Island, before going on to Reading Bridge and back to the start.
