A steady uphill walk through the streets of Brighton where we’ll get a chance to look at other people’s houses. Then through the countryside north of the A27 and up to Ditchling Beacon for an ice cream. A steep narrow descent and then across the flat to Ditchling for lunch. Pubs and cafés available in Ditchling.
After lunch a short walk along a defunct Roman road to Keymer and then to Hassocks station.
Return trains from Hassocks to Brighton take around 11 minutes and run roughly every 15 minutes.
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give the walk leader a rough idea of how many people may be attending. If you are a paid up member of the Ramblers organisation, you can ignore any waitlist you may find yourself on.
We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers. Click here (https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership) to apply. The cost is very reasonable and there are also other benefits. Please then bring your membership card with you.
