Overview

We will follow signed paths over rolling hills, with some steeper sections. Stansted Park is surrounded by the ancient Roman forest of Bere once the hunting ground for King Richard the Lionheart as he waited for ships to load at Portsmouth. Havant Thicket is where King George VI addressed the troops that filled the woodland prior to the D-Day landings. The long tree-lined walk called The Avenue gives views back to Stansted House. Aptly it is part of tbe Monarchs Way, our route back.

No booking required.
