Overview

The walk starts in the layby near the Red House pub. It goes though Hamstead Park where there are a number ornamental gates posts, past White Hill Farm. It then goes over Irish Hill to Shepard's Bridge and follow the Kennet and Avon canal to Kintbury. The walk returns to Shepherd's Bridge follow a different route and then follows the Kennet and Avon canal to the layby. This is a variation of walk 5 in Walks in The Kennet Valley and Beyond published by West Berks Ramblers 2010.

The layby is reached by taking the second turning on the left off the A4 after the A34 roundabouts. It is on the left just before the turning the the Red House pub.
