It’s hip to be square, so they say. Especially amongst the Islington and Bloomsbury set. So why not join a brisk circular walk linking as many as 30 squares, including some fine Georgian and Victorian residential wonders across these often ignored, fascinating and varied sections of inner London. The walk departs from the easily accessible Angel Station (Northern Line) and takes an oddly circular fully paved route, best suited to trainers. If raining just bring a brolly!
We will have a picnic lunch in one of the squares but there will be places to pick something up nearby. There are public toilets by the canal at Kings Cross.
If you want more than squares, the walk includes the odd circus, a 200 year old fig tree and the wonderful Shepherdess Walk mosaics.
You can drop out almost anywhere and find your way without difficulty.
No booking required. No stiles of course! No mud either. You could bring your dog if you like, just on a short lead as we will be crossing numerous roads.

Meet at Angel Underground Station (Northern Line Zone 1)
The walk will be brisk but we will be stopping frequently so the finishing time is just an estimate and will depend on how the group progresses on the day.
