The walk starts at the museum bus stop in Eyam we walk over the fields to Foolow and then yet more fields to Stanley House and Wardlow Mires, passing through many squeeze stiles. We walk along the first part of Cressbrook Dale and then go gradually uphill to reach Wardlow. We walk through the village and take the path immediately after the church. This leads us across many more fields and over quite a few stiles to Housley and then along the road back to Foolow. We walk though the village and up Bradshaw Lane to Bretton. Immediately after The Barrel Inn we descend to Shepherd's Flat Farm and cross Eyam Edge to Highcliffe before walking down into Eyam for the end of the walk.
Catch the new 257 at 9.00 from the Interchange. Don't expect actual NEW buses; it's just a different company (Andrews) that is running this service. If you intend to catch the bus other than at the Interchange, please check the route. The bus arrives at the museum in Eyam at 10.07. There are plenty places to park for those coming by car. The route is mostly across grassy paths and smooth surfaces with occasional short road sections. There are some rougher surfaces towards the end of the walk between Bretton and Eyam. There are several quite steep but short ascents and descents. We are aiming to catch the 257 bus in Eyam at 16.19. this arrives in Sheffield at 17.25. There is also a 65 bus at 16.57, arriving in Sheffield at 17.46.
