This walk will be led by Anne Exton. and the route taken will provide great views over the valleys and across the Moors (weather permitting)
From the car park at the Hole of Horcum we will walk steeply down the valley into 'the Hole' before the ascent up to Levisham Brow with views towards Lockton. After a lunch break in Levisham, the route goes due west from Levisham before a very steep descent towards Levisham Station. From Levisham Bottoms there is a steep ascent to the top of a hill marked 'Pillow Mounds' Pillow Mounds are sometimes confused with burial chambers but are thought to be artificial, medieval rabbit warrens.
We carry on to Dundale Pond before joining the Tabular Hills Walk towards the Hole of Horcum. Parts of the walk will be muddy after prolonged wet spells, and there will be some steep ascents and descents (walking poles may be advisable for some)
No dogs except registered assistance dogs with the consent of the leader.
Please note that there were traffic lights in Pickering on the main road from Malton. They are causing delays and have been there for some time. It may be advisable to leave more time for your journey. There is also a parking charge at the Hole of Horcum Car Park. Cards, but not cash, are accepted
