The walk begins with a steady uphill climb to the top of Okeford Hill, where weather permitting, we should have superb views of the surrounding countryside. The walk then continues along the edge of woodland and across farmland before descending slowly through a pretty valley into the village of Durweston.
After crossing the River Stour, we pass through the village of Stourpaine, before joining the Shillingstone Trailway. Along the trailway there are lovely views across to Hod Hill and Hambledon Hill. Depending on the weather, there can be a few muddy patches, so boots are advisable.
