Overview

A chance to walk in the vicinity of the Central Beacons, without too much of a climb. Starting from Talybont on Usk, we briefly find the Taff Trail before crossing the Caerfanell river by footbridge turning on to the Usk Valley Walk. A moderate ascent through open fields treats us to views of the Usk Valley, then through woodlands on towards the charming village of Pencelli. Descending to the towpath alongside the Monmouthshire & Brecon canal returns us to Talybont.
