We start from Taplow, a very pretty village with many old buildings, St Nicholas church with its copper spire and a pub. We head to the Jubilee river, a man made flood relief channel for the local area. Our route brings us towards the M4 and we hear the hum of traffic in the distance. We then head away from the motorway along quiet lanes to reach the River Thames at Bray lock where we will stop for lunch. The Thames flows much faster than the Jubilee. We can admire the incredible houses on the Bray bank as we wind along and emerge near Maidenhead. A short walk on the main road sees us off on the Trim trail, with its lovely shrubs and topiary and then we wend our way with a slight uphill climb to Taplow.
There are no stiles. We will need to cross a couple of main roads so care will be required here. The way is mainly flat with a short incline at the end. Much of the walk is on tarmac paths but the river bank may be muddy after rain. The pace will be leisurely today.
