Upon leaving Amberley Station we shall follow the River Arun for a short time before passing through the picturesque village of Amberley with views over the marshlands of Amberley Wild Brooks. From there we continue our journey reaching the grandeur of Pareham Park.
With the South Downs taunting us, we pass Pareham House and walk through the Deer Park. Cootham provides a suitable lunch spot (please bring a packed lunch), with drinks and toilets available at The Crown Inn before we continue via Storrington and finally make our way onto the South Downs.
Following the South Downs Way we return to Amberley and the promise of refreshments at The Bridge Inn for those who would like to linger a little longer.
Travel Details:
Take the 09.05 train from London Victoria (Clapham Junction 09.12, East Croyden 09.23) arriving at Amberley Railway Station at 10.28am.
There are 2 trains an hour returning to London Victoria at .18 and .48 past the hour.
Buy a return ticket to Amberley.
No booking is required.
