Overview

From Bowleaze Coveway we visit the Jordan Hill Roman Temple and then cut inland through Preston to pass by Chalbury Hillfort. On reaching the South Dorset Ridgeway we pass above Osmington White Horse and then take the path downhill into Osmington and on via St Osmond's Church to reach the Coast Path and back to our start point.

A hilly circular route, mostly on well defined paths and tracks, but there are sections of road walking.

Waterproof walking boots or wellies are recommended and if you use poles, they would be of assistance.

There will be a coffee stop and a picnic lunch. There are public toilets near the start point of the walk opposite the Oasis Cafe at Overcombe Corner.

Please check the website after 7.00pm on the day before the walk in case the walk is cancelled due to inclement weather.

The walk will start from outside the Lookout Cafe on Bowleaze Coveway, Weymouth, DT3 6PL. There is free parking all along Bowleaze Coveway.
