Overview

This is a linear walk that begins at Tilbury Town Station and, after a short walk past Tilbury docks, picks up the path at the 'Worlds End' and the 16th century 'Tilbury Fort'. We will then walk along the base of the sea wall, leading to the 19th century Coalhouse Fort on the bend of the river. The path continues, following the Thames before turning towards Thurrock Thameside Nature Park & the Visitor centre which has great views of the estuary and the 'London Gateway Port'.

There are Public toilets available at both Coalhouse Fort and the Visitor centre (Thameside Nature Park).
We finish at Stanford-le-Hope Station where there are direct trains (every 30mins) back to Tilbury Town.
Please bring a packed lunch, there will also be the option of a pub stop at the end.

PARKING DETAILS BELOW**** You can park at either Tilbury Town, or Stanford-le-Hope Station (where we finish) and get the train to Tilbury Town (Do not get off at East Tilbury!) Tilbury Town Parking (RM18 7JT) Free parking is available along Dock road by the station (there is no station car park). Stanford-le-Hope Parking (SS17 0JX) There is ample parking at the station car park, which costs £3.20 for the day. You can pay for ticketless parking (on arrival, or when you leave) at the car park machine, or via the RingGo app, or online at www.c2c-parking.co.uk As of writing, there is a train at 10.16 from Stanford-le-Hope (Platform 1) that gets into Tilbury Town at 10.25. There is only 1x fiddly unmanned ticket machine at the station though and there can sometimes be a queue, so allow plenty of time to get a ticket!
