Overview

The walk starts along the canal before using tracks to reach the River Douglas. Here there are 65 steps up to the main road into Wigan. After crossing the road we pass through Gidlow Cemetery and use tracks and a field path before crossing the main road back and going through a reclaimed coal mining area. We cross the railway line and back to the start. There are 3 stiles on the walk.
