Overview

Starting from Threlkeld Cricket Club car park, we will walk to 'Newsham' and out onto the fell. Then we  will start our ascent of Threlkeld Knotts where, weather permitting, there will be fantastic views over to Blencathra and St.John's in the Vale. After walking down to the Old Coach Road, next we will cross the vale and make our way to Low Rigg and Tewet Tarn and eventually to Threkeld Bridge where we will walk back along the old railway line to our finish. Any ascents will be taken at a moderate pace and the walk is on mostly good tracks and paths with a couple of short quiet road sections. There are some boggy sections on this route too.
