Walk in the popular Melbourne - Ticknall area through fields and two woodlands where we should see bluebells. The walk is in memory of Helen, who walked with us for many years; she was a much-liked and admired person, an excellent leader, and a committee member.
The group does not stop at cafes or pubs for lunch, and you should bring enough food and drinks with you to last the whole walk. We usually stop for a coffee break an hour or so into the walk, and stop for packed lunch around 1230-1300 although weather and a suitable location will affect both timings.
Risk assessment: The walk leader has assessed this walk for the following risks, but during the walk others may become evident. You will come across stiles, gates and other path furniture, hedges etc. There are two busy road crossings, fields with crops, muddy/slippery sections, especially after rain and farm livestock. Inclement weather is always possible in England. You should remain stay alert and take individual responsibility.
