This walk takes us through heath, birch and pine woods on sandy ground. There is a stepped climb to the summit of Crooksbury Hill which provides distant views on a clear day. There are a few short road sections but no stiles. Easy walking across a section of Crooksbury Common.

There is one muddy section so good boots and poles would be beneficial.
In Tilford there is a pub for possible after walk refreshments or there is a large green for those wishing to take a picnic.
Car park is sited along one side of the Village Green. There are probably 15 spaces but other users, so best to get there early and share rides where possible. Alternative parking alongside the green and in front of the pub. To get there take A3 S then A3001 thru Elstead, in about 2 m T L to Tilford. CP is over bridge, by Green on L
