A long walk in beautiful scenery, with rivers, woodland, farmland. We pass by the historic Stonyhurst College where JRR Tolkien spent some time whilst writing Lord of the Rings.

We’ll be walking for 8+ hours and there are no bail out points on the walk due to it being a circular route. In view of the fact it's both a long day and a longish journey from Manchester, the walk will need to be done at a good pace, so this walk is only suitable for those with a high level of fitness.

There are some uneven paths, and some patches which are always muddy.

Please bring plenty of water and food/snacks as it’s a long day out and you may need to replace a lot of lost energy.

No dogs please, other than registered assistance dogs.
