Overview

From the Trefriw car park we walk up past Fairy Glen and its waterfalls and rapids, then up the graded path through the oak woods of Coed y Gwmannog, and on to Llyn Geirionnydd where lunch will be taken. Then through conifers, passed the lead and zinc Pandora Mine, and onto open moorland before descending the gorgeous dank and mossy Llanrhychwyn gulley. A brief stop at the ancient St Rhychwyn Church before ascending towards Grinllwm hill (287 m OD). At the col there will be an opportunity to ascend the hill for the fine views of Conwy Valley etc. There is then a short steep, somewhat challenging, 135 m descent back down to the Coed y Gwmannog path and back through Trefriw to the car park.
