This is a great complement to last week’s walk but with no overlap. Taking our time, we start with a fairly steep climb to the top of the escarpment and along the edge to the summit of Twmpa. From here we follow a good path southwards where we will be rewarded with beautiful views over the Vale of Ewyas and possibly a few ponies. Our route returns along a gorgeous glacial valley where we will have our lunch. Expect some steep rocky descents which will be taken as slowly as needed. Likewise with our ascents.
Bring a packed lunch, mid Morning snack and be prepared for all weathers.
Pen yr Heol chapel. From Tregoyd head south west on the road and take the first left along a single track road signposted to the chapel. There are several passing places. Park close together on grass avoiding gates. Car share if possible due to limited space. Toilets are available at the start and end of the walk.
