This is a walk along the paths, tracks and lanes of the Chiltern Hills. Leaving the carpark, we head east, gradually descending through several woodlands, before regaining height and emerging at Ibstone Common. Turning south, we reach Turville Heath, before turning west and passing through rolling countryside to reach Pishill, Russell Water and Cookley Green. Here we follow tracks north and make the long ascent back to the carpark.
Unless there is significant rainfall in the days prior to the walk, the going will be good to firm. Even some of the notoriously wet bits will have dried out. There is one short but steep ascent and descent. There are five stiles, all in good condition.
Please bring sufficient food and drink for the day and dress to suit the weather, bearing in mind that some of the downland is very exposed.
The walk is limited to 20 walkers, please book using the website link by 6pm on Wednesday, 30 April.
