Overview

This walk will take us around the Bevercotes and Haughton area with the possibility of wading through the footpath at the confluence of the Maun and the Meden ( or circling round it).  You will see an ancient chapel, mysterious waters and even a cave.   The bonus at the end is that you can call into Thaymar's for an icecream ( I am hoping for a Summery September).

NOTE:  Parking is limited so please make every effort to share.

Please register for this walk on Newark Ramblers website where you will also find details of our car share scheme.

The correct post code is DN22 8DF - but sat nav may take you elsewhere ! From Newark head north on the A1, turning off on to the B6387 towards Bothamsall, Walesby, pass Thaymar's on the right and shortly afterwards you will see a side road on the left with a big white billboard. Turn down here and park at the " visitor's car park" down a bit on the right - it is just a long layby. If you are travelling along the B6387 towards the A1 watch out for the side road/ billboard on the right after passing the Haughton Park House Farm ( we have walked up here before). If you pass Thaymar's you have gone too far ! Alternatively GOOGLE Bevercotes Pit Wood and click the Directions button.
