We set off along footways at the start, then enter fields and go along some narrow footpaths, before crossing a road to reach an even larger field with a wide footpath rising gently. Eventually, we cross another road and start a very long, but, gradual and winding ascent. We continue for quite a while across various terrain using Shakespeare's Way to reach Cookley Green. From there we use the Chiltern Way and start a descent through woods and fields to Swyncombe Church, were there will be a 'banana break'. Afterwards, we join the Ridgeway and after a descent, start a long steepish climb. This is a long stretch of the walk, through woods and by the side of fields. Later we use Swan's Way and after exiting some woods, start descending along a footway to reach our start point.
