"The walk starts below Farteg Hill near the village of Ystalyfera where we head North along a picturesque cycle path. We visit the site of an old aqueduct before heading into Ystradgynlais, where you can discover it's rich industrial heritage. We then head along Mynydd y Drum and follow an ancient trail up to the Black Mountains" The above description is taken from the Weatherman Walking BBC website.
The walk will involve a mix of walking surfaces. A pair of walking boots in good condition will be essential for support and grip as will warm and protective clothing. Dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when near to livestock. Being a linear walk we will be shuttling one or more cars to the end of the route to save relying on a limited Sunday public transport to get us back to the start.
