A walk on Putney Heath and Wimbledon Common to discover the ponds, learn about their history and the Queenmere Pond Project. After meeting at Putney Station we'll walk gently up hill to meet one of the Wimbledon & Putney Commons rangers who will lead a walk around Putney Heath/Wimbledon Common. Most of the walk is on tracks on the commons (may be some mud) with some pavement walking at the start and end. Option to drop out at lunchtime after approx 4 miles. (93 bus to return to Putney station) Afternoon walk will continue on Wimbledon Common to visit the rest of the 9 ponds and finish at Wimbledon station.
Lunch break and toilets by Wimbledon Windmill. If you would like to join the group for lunch at the club house of London Scottish Golf Club please book with the leader (phone/text 07899 798298) by 1 December.
Meet outside the ticket barriers at Putney Railway station (train station). If travelling on the District Line get off at East Putney and walk to the train station (approx 5 minutes)
