We are the Wakefield and District Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A clockwise walk around a surprisingly rural area on the Leeds/Wakefield boundary. We pass Leventhorpe vineyard on our way to the parkland at Temple Newsam. We'll be able to admire the house from the top of the Avenue whilst we have our mid morning break. Through Hollinthorpe and the outskirts of Swillington, using some of the Leeds Country Way, to our lunch stop at the RSPB site, St Aidans. Here, there are toilets and a cafe where refreshments are available; toilets are free, refreshments are not. Through the reserve and along the towing path of the Aire & Calder Navigation back to Woodlesford. There are no stiles.
