A walk which takes in some stretches of the Greensand Way. From Limpsfield Chart we take some lovely woodland paths to a fine view south before we pass the attractive Tenchleys Manor. Fields full of sheep, and probably a few geese, will bring us to Crockham Hill, with its unusual war memorial. A gradual rise, plus a wonderfully regular flight of steps and a short bit of road bring us to the 'balcony' path above Chartwell. Skirting Mariners Hill and then Crockhamhill Common and taking the centre section of the Greensand Way will bring us back to the starting point, with its excellent watering hole.
There will inevitably be some mud, but not a lot unless there's been a lot of rain; most of the walking is good. The descent to Tenchleys Manor will be slippery - care needed!
Mostly undulating, but the significant descent just mentioned, and the steps up to Froghole lane. One stile.
If you bring a dog it must be on a lead through all she sheep fields.
Lift available for up to three from Sevenoaks - contact the leader at least two days before.
