Walking in Bedfordshire
Welcome to the Ramblers Bedfordshire Area page and our surprising little county. Most people whizz through the area at 70 mph (or at 0 mph), however, if you take time to stop, you’ll be surprised by what you will find.
With over 1500 miles of rights of way, sites of geological and historical interest, plus a number of Sites of Scientific Interest (SSSIs), it’s easy to get off the main roads and explore.
We have four Ramblers groups in the area that offer over 300 walks a year ranging from short ambles and slightly longer half day walks, to weekly, longer full day walks. There really is something for virtually everyone.
In addition to the group walks the area offers a range of training courses in map reading, using a GPS etc. We also work with the local authorities to help keep our footpaths and bridleways open. Follow this link for the latest South East Walker magazine.
Following the success of the 2024 Festival of Autumn Walks, Bedfordshire Ramblers are already planning the 2025 Festival. The Festival will run from Saturday 6th to Sunday 14th Sept 2025. Put the dates in your diaries and come and join us!
The full programme will be posted on our Beds Walk Fest website and our dedicated Facebook page, Bedfordshire Festival of Autumn Walks.
