Overview

We offer a choice of walks starting from the Terry Wright Community Hall, Newfield Green and returning there for a social chin-wag after our walk. The Gleadless valley has lots of green spaces to explore but it is hilly and the main walk inevitably finds at least one hill to climb. We also offer a flatter walk each week for the less energetic and this one is suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. We meet in all weathers (except when it is slippery underfoot because of snow or ice) but in inclement weather we reserve the right to reduce walking time and increase the socialising time in the warm and dry! Our longest walk lasts up to an hour. There will be a cuppa waiting for you at the end of your walk - and if you are lucky - a biscuit or two too!

Meet in the foyer of the Terry Wright Community Centre, Newfield Green. The entrance to the building is at the back of the building, opposite Herons supermarket. Immediately in front of the Community Centre there is an enclosed children's playground and, between that and Gleadless Road, there is a reasonably-sized car park. The nearest bus stop is beside the car park.
