We are the Brighton and Hove Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This walk starts at the Lower Lodges Car Park in Stanmer Park. This is on a variety of bus routes and a 10 minute walk from Falmer Rail Station. Paid parking at the start. Free parking usually available in Coldean and Moulsecombe- 10 minute walk from start. Toilets and cafe at start. We head up hill via Balmer Huff to just below Black Cap. Then turn east along the South Downs way to the Ditchling Beacon and return through Stanmer Woods where we may catch the last of the bluebell display. 735 ft of ascent, slightly less descent. BYO lunch and coffee, although there may be an opportunity to buys coffee en route. Assistance dogs only.
This entrance to Stanmer Park is off the A27/ Lewes Road. The car park is on the right. PaybyPhone app or by card. Buses to Stanmer Park or Sussex University stop outside the park.
