Overview

For anyone new to Staveley (12 miles from J36 M6) this`ll be a moderate leisurely paced 10 miles (1250ft cumulative ascent) walk up to its two tarns for lunch (and a paddle if it`s 💥hot💥) with earlier/later views over Lakeland`s Kentmere valley & Lower Longsleddale plus a charming Dales Way River Kent riverside return back to the cars after a refreshment stop at The Eagle & Child per enclosed website (or "Wilf's") just before the end of the walk if wished.

Meet by Staveley`s Spar shop (LA8 9LN per shop website) on Main Street through the village (public loos over the road by the bus lay-by) at 1030 after roadside parking in the village - usually further on past the bus lay-by.

I`ll wear a yellow hat for ID.
