Overview

An  11 mile circular walk from Sutton Scotney, returning in time for the 3pm Winchester Ramblers AGM at the  Victoria  Hall, Sutton Scotney.   We follow the Dever river a short distance before leaving the water and following the Watercress Way along the ancient Alresford Drove.  From here we head across the fields to Bazeley Copse where evidence has been found of Iron Age and Roman settlements.  On a clear day we will have 360 views of the surrounding countryside.  The track takes us down to Borough Farm and then the road to Micheldever Church where we stop for lunch.  The afternoon stretch follows the Dever valley back to Sutton Scotney across farmland and along quiet lanes before taking the river path back into Sutton Scotney.  Blazing autumnal colours and the browns of tilled fields add to the beauty of the landscape throughout this varied walk.
