Overview

Our latest seaside walk, offered in conjunction with MAD Walkers, is a little longer than previous ones. However, it is mostly flat and on good surfaces so don’t be put off!

The outward route takes us through Fairfield Nature Reserve before using the Lancaster Canal – one of the prettiest in the country – to take us south towards Galgate. A small amount of field walking then brings us to the village of Conder Green, for a drink and toilet stop at the attractive Stork Inn. We re-join a branch of the canal for the short walk to Glasson Dock, once the largest port in the Northwest but now better known for its marina and pleasure craft. After time to relax there, we follow the coastal path along the Lune Estuary before heading inland via the village of Aldcliffe and, once again, the Lancaster Canal.
