Join us for a 6 mile evening walk on Bredon Hill, starting from outside Overbury Church, Church Row, Overbury (GL20 7NY, not far from Tewkesbury). Free street parking is available but please park considerately in this residential area.
The route is well-known and popular for reason, but for anyone unfamiliar the views from Bredon Hill can be fantastic, including the Malvern Hills in the distance.
We will stop at the top of Bredon Hill for about 10 – 15 minutes.
Those wanting to can stop at the Yew Tree in Conderton, just before the end of the walk, and anyone not wanting to stop can be given easy directions for the final remaining distance.
Sunset will be just after 8.30pm, which we will hopefully see just before reaching the pub.
Please bring a torch / headtorch for the final section, especially if stopping at the pub.
Points of interest include the "folly" (a tower) which was believed to have been inspired by the building of the nearby Broadway Tower and which, sitting on a hill 981 feet, takes the total height above 1,000 feet.
