Celebrating 25 years Gloucestershire Walking Group is hosting a 25-mile walk starting and finishing in Winchcombe. It mostly follows the Winchcombe Way and will be divided into 3 sections so that walkers can choose to complete the full distance, or just one or more of the sections - Winchcombe to Snowshill (c 9 miles), Snowshill to Guiting Power (c 8 miles) and Guiting Power to Winchcombe (c 7 miles). The route encompasses much of the best walking the Cotswolds as to offer. All walkers are welcome.
THE WALK PLANNING IS WORK IN PROGRESS. DETAILS WILL BE ADDED NEARER THE TIME.
The full route is expected to take a full 12 hours, starting at 8:00 am and finishing at about 8:00pm.
The intention is to walk as a group, but there will be separate walk leaders for each stage to help manage the sub-groups. The section from Snowshill will start at 12:30 pm, and that from Guiting Power at 4:30 pm. Timings are approximate.
Car-sharing is likely to be needed to unite walkers with vehicles. Walkers are encouraged to arrange car-share groups between themselves and offer help where needed. Arrangements will be co-ordinated through GWG and finalised nearer the time.
PLEASE GET IN TOUCH IF YOU WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN ONE OR MORE OF THE SECTIONS. It will not be possible to accommodate walkers who do not register their participation in advance.
There will be brief stops for refreshments along the way. Facilities and parking are available at Snowshill and Guiting Power, with pubs also open at Ford and Kineton.
