Overview

We will be walking over reasonably even terrain along the canal towpath, over open farmland and through Odiham village. There will be breaks for lunch and drinks.

A reasonably brisk but pleasant open air walk in the Hampshire countryside along parts of the Basingstoke Canal towpath and across open farmland. There are some stiles.

Leader will be at the start point (Odiham).

Pre-booking required for this walk via ALTON WALKING FESTIVAL website.

Head W along the Basingstoke Canal tow path (Three Castles Path), N through Lodge Farm then E via Poland Mill to Pot Bridge.   Down to Basingstoke Canal at Stacey Bridge.  Follow tow path to Tundry Pond the SW through Forest Park down to Hillside, through Odiham and return to start.

Walk start location: Colt Hill Car Park (near the Basingstoke & Dean Canoe Club) RG29 1AL From Odiham High Street, turn down London Road towards the Waterwitch PH. Continue over the canal bridge to the end of the road then turn right into the car park.
