Overview

Join us walking from the Lower Wireworks in Tintern and following the Angidy River to discover some of the bygone industrial history of Tintern.  The walk will take us past the Lower and Middle Wire Works, the site of the Tilting Mill and holding ponds which supplied the water to the works.  There will be time to explore the ruins of the old ironworks at Abbey Tintern Furnace.  Following a path through Glyn Wood we will visit St Mary's Church were many of wireworks and furnace men were laid to rest.  We then make our way down towards the River Wye where we will pass Tintern Abbey and along to Abbey Mill and the Wireworks Bridge.  From here we return to car park.
