A slightly shorter than usual walk (for this group) to blow off the festive cobwebs and start the new Rambling year. Starting in Hartsop Village we take the terrace path north up the valley before turning to ascend up to Boredale Hause, this becomes fairly steep for a short section as we approach the Hause. Then we pick up the C2C path before again turning to ascend, first to Angletarn Pike - North Top (a Wainwright summit) then we drop slightly before ascending to the South summit. We then descend to Angle Tarn following the path around the eastern side of the tarn and continue on this path in an ascending arc around to Brock Crags (another Wainwright). From Brock Crags we retrace our steps briefly before descending to Hayeswater Reservoir Pump House where we pick up the path leading us back past the Hydro Electric Station and on to the Car Park.
Due to the time of year, it may be necessary to make alterations to the starting point and/or the walk route depending on weather and ground conditions.
Please remember to bring your Micro Spikes (or similar) if snow or ice are likely to be present.
