Overview

An amble around the country park which replaces the old Bevercotes Pit. Fairly good paths for most part. Dogs are welcome on this walk:  there is one area where they should be able to run around provided still controlled, for the most part they should be kept on short leads and the Dog Walking Code observed.  There is an option to complete a four mile walk only, with coffee stop.  Otherwise you can continue a further two miles which will include a lunch stop.

Limited to twenty walkers due to car park restrictions - please share cars.

Please register for this walk on Newark Ramblers website, where you will also find details of our car sharing scheme.

The correct post code is DN22 8DF - but sat nav may take you elsewhere !  From Newark head north on the A1, turning off on to the B6387 towards Bothamsall, Walesby,  pass Thaymar's on the right and shortly afterwards you will see a side road on the left with a big white billboard. Turn down here and park at the " visitor's car park" down a bit on the right - it is just a long layby.  If you are travelling along the B6387 towards the A1 watch out for the side road/ billboard on the right after passing the Haughton Park House Farm ( we have walked up here before). If you pass Thaymar's you have gone too far ! Alternatively GOOGLE Bevercotes Pit Wood and click the Directions button.
