Overview

We meet in Saxon Road off Walcot Road.  Please do not park in Millstone Lane.

We weave our way around, up and down the spoil heaps of the quarry, worked from Roman times up to about 1500AD and the source of the stone for Peterborough and Ely cathedrals, and now known as  Barnack Hills and Holes National Nature Reserve and a SSSI.  We join Ermine Street to Burghley Park and Stamford, returning on the Torpel Way with a picnic lunch by the river.
