Overview

This route follows the Clwydian Way and Hiraethog Trail between Bettws GG and Llanfihangel GM. Along the slopes of Mwdwl-eithin and the valley of the river Alwen below it. Field paths and lanes. This is not a well walked area so expect some obstacles.

Ysgol Bettws Gwerfil Goch (school car park) The best route to the village is to take A5 to Maerdy, turn right at the Goat Inn, then 1.75 miles to Bettws GG, turn left at crossroads in village centre for the school which is 200m on right up hill.
