Booking Essential
A circular hilly walk from the village of Betws-y-coed, following the Afon Llugwy through meadows and the Artists Wood. Passing the Miners Bridge and old lead mine workings then through mixed woodland to a lost village and an upland lake.
Bring refreshments and water for several stops and a packed lunch.

Recce report….
- The first section is challenging with many tree roots and boulders to navigate.
- The next section is uphill on forestry tracks with a few fallen trees to climb through but manageable.
- The remainder of the walk is hilly but problem free with magnificent views.
- The section from Llyn Elsi to Betws-y-coed is a steepish downhill forestry track on loose shale.
- The distance is about 7.5 to 8 miles.
