Overview

Booking Essential

A circular hilly walk from the village of Betws-y-coed, following the Afon Llugwy through meadows and the Artists Wood. Passing the Miners Bridge and old lead mine workings then through mixed woodland to a lost village and an upland lake.

Bring refreshments and water for several stops and a packed lunch.

Please check for any changes….. we will be doing a final recce on 25  March

Recce report….

  • The first section is challenging with many tree roots and boulders to navigate.
  • The next section is uphill on forestry tracks with a few fallen trees to climb through but manageable.
  • The remainder of the walk is hilly but problem free with magnificent views.
  • The section from Llyn Elsi to Betws-y-coed is a steepish downhill forestry track on loose shale.
  • The distance is about 7.5  to 8 miles.

Betws-y-coed car park at the far end. There is a £6 charge all day card payments. Many of the other car parks have a 4 hour limit. Meet outside the tourist information office REMINDER - The hour has changed to British Summer Time
