Starting from Little Driffield pond we walk eastwards through the outskirts of Driffield until we reach Cemetery Lane. Shortly afterwards the route turns northwards, crossing the A614 and upwards to the top of Nafferton Wold. After descending there is a short stretch of walking on the verge of the road to just short of Pockthorpe when we turn north to Driffield Wold.
A right angle turn to the west now sees us heading by Wold House farm with a short ascent, on a quiet road, to Elmswell Wold Farm.
Now a turn to the south sees us descending along Garton Balk, crossing the A166 and then turning east to pass Elmswell Hall Farm and back to the start.
Short sections of the route may be muddy after rain and in the event of the last section of Garton Balk having been damaged by 'off road enthusiasts' there will be an alternative route on the footpath along the A166.
Walking poles will not be essential.
Please park at the Driffield end of the road in Little Driffield, beyond the houses. It is only a short walk back to the pond.
No dogs please, apart from Registered Assistance Dogs.
