Most of the walk is on tarmac and in fields along established paths.
Some muddy patches on the river path, (depending on the weather).
From the car park, we head north-east with a gentle climb uphill and head towards the forestry at the Dimbath Valley.
Once in the forestry, we will return via the footpath adjacent to the river.
This stretch can be slightly muddy if it has been raining.
The rest of the way back to the car park will be on tarmac.
Directions: Travel time from Swansea: approximately 45 mins.
Leave M4 at J36 (Sarn Services). Stay in left lane. Take 2nd exit (signed Bryncethin A4061) then continue until signposted Nantymoel.
At bottom of hill, after entering Blackmill on A4061, turn left immediately at MURCO petrol Station and before Fox & Hounds Pub. (N.B. Here ignore Sat Nav if it wants to continue along main road).
Pass entrance to Fox and Hounds then turn right between footbridge and café.
It appears to be a dead end but here turn left to cross an old river bridge to enter Blackmill Cattle Market car park.
SOCIAL: At the end of the walk, we will drive north to Ogmore Vale to park in the car park behind ‘Clacks’.
N.B. You must have pre-booked the social with Myra to take part
